We Are Blessed

2 Corinthians 9:6
“But this I say, He who sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly, and he who sows in blessings shall also reap blessings.”

Another tree fell across the road last night but it was just past our property and before the bridge. It brought back memories of last year’s damage when the huge Hackberry tree fell and landed on a large portion of our antique looking wrought iron fence.
The huge limb fell to the ground rumbling and shaking the house. It was like being in the middle of an earthquake.

Looking like the fence might be very hard to repair, I was feeling sad; but wondered if my brother might be able to do something with it.
It’s hard to find a craftsman that can repair the old wrought iron fences and it was so great of my brother, Brian, to be willing to help me repair the damage to our fence the day the storm weakened a part of our tree.

He painstakingly straightened out every part of it that could be salvaged. Two parts he remade.
As my sister-in-law Florence said, “It was really nice of your brother to fix that fence.”
It really was,” I said, “and I will keep that good memory in my heart.”
Only the photos tell the secret now that there was so much damage done to the fence.
How I love what is left of the big ole, almost 200-year-old Hackberry tree, and am thankful that my brother was willing and able to restore the beauty of the wrought iron fence.
Still thanking God for my home, and that our new kitchen edition wasn’t damaged.
We all have many blessings to remember and be thankful about.

Another thing you always say, Florence, “We are blessed.”
Yes, we are all blessed by God in many different ways. He cares about the details of our life and enjoys providing us with every good thing.
He uses others to bring us blessings. Who have you been able to bless recently?

Sending You A Valentine

Romans 12:10. “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

If I could send a valentine to each family around the globe it would come from a valuable Bible verse in Romans 12:10 on how to lovingly treat each other.
We know what love looks like. It’s when you are loved so much someone dies for you. That’s what Jesus did and it gave you Heaven, and right standing with God. His death and resurrection gave you the chance to be with the good guys, fighting on the winning team.

Keeping Your Kids On The Team

Jonathan Brozozog, a pastor with eight children was recently interviewed about his book called “Raising Parents.”
His wisdom caught my attention.
“Be in the moment!
When we are with them we are with them!
Don’t be busy with other stuff.
Sow seeds of confidence by being a good listener.
Then I took note of this wise advice and realized God was speaking through this kind father when he said, “Grandparents are a living letter of God’s faithfulness and their prophetic voice. Our grandchildren and children can see further when they stand on the shoulders of your prophetic words.”

More Wise Words

Gently the pastor said, “Our kids are not going to be what we say, they’re going to be what we do.”
When finding yourself in a grumpy mood ask grandkids to pray
for you“, he suggested.
“Maybe kids don’t need as much medication as the world is telling them they need, maybe they need more time with their grandparents.”
In the Jonathan Brozozog
Book on discipline, his approach is to always pray before a correction. Someone who has eight children would know.
“So you are Never ANGRY; Pray before discipline.
Don’t send kids to room or away from you or you will teach discipline creates distance and God doesn’t discipline and send us away from Him, He disciplines us to bring us close.”

Other Important Words About Prayer

“Pray something nice over siblings toward each other. Teach them to serve each other.
If your children only see you pray, worship, read Bible on Sunday to them your faith will be religion.
And the best place to raise an atheist is a religious home.”

Back To Romans 12:10

“Honor one another above yourselves.”
Author, and pastor Jonathan Brozozog says,
“The more Honor you have in your home the less rules are needed.”

On Valentine’s Day we demonstrate love with words from a card, a love letter, a gift, but can you Honor those you love daily? Yes it can happen when we ask God to give us a true servant’s heart.
