Living Life in the Second Act by your coffee drinking friend
Lynn Berna

This month we have been focusing on showing honor to each
other as taught in Romans 12:10 from The Bible.
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

Honoring Each Other

Honor is defined as having high respect or great esteem for others, and especially God.
When my daughter was young she really wanted a dog. Her dad said no to her several times. She began to kneel by her bed each night and prayed asking God to please change her dad’s mind to say yes to a dog.
My husband was thinking maybe if he said yes, but, with some stipulations, saying yes might be a good idea. He said if she would not date guys until she graduated from high school she could have a dog. Both stayed true to their word. The adorable cockapoo puppy she named Honor.

God And Power in Prayer
Two Things That Are Very Real

Just as God’s Word encourages showing love and respect to each other, The One who was sent to earth with the purpose of demonstrating love for us by dying on the cross is far more deserving of honor.

Make Good Decisions Ask God What To Do

God also wants us to honor Him in the midst of important decisions.
When we find ourselves in an impasse He leads us to the right path best for our needs.
The King James Version of The Bible in Proverbs 3:5-6 puts it this way as we give God honor by placing all our trust in Him,

“Trust in The Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”

In loving memory of Honor
